DIOCESAN REPRESENTATIVE
(Appointed by the Bishop or Chancellor of each Diocese)
At their meeting
in San Antonio on March 4th, 2002, the Bishops of Texas gave Bishop
John McCarthy, Episcopal Liaison of Texas Mission Council, clearance
to approach each Chancellor in the state about designating a particular
person in each diocese to serve as a contact person with the Texas Mission
Council. The Chancellors appointed representatives.
At the October 30,
2002, meeting the Texas Mission Council Executive Committee approved
the following structure. The Official Diocesan Representative will:
1.
Be an Ex Officio Member of the Texas Mission Council.
2. Attend the Annual Texas Mission Conference. The
Annual Conference always includes a business meeting, which includes
both the vision for the coming year and evaluations of the past year.
3. Be the Liaison. The Official Diocesan Representative
will be the liaison for the Diocese to the Executive Committee. They
will receive minutes and newsletters. The Executive Committee will stay
in communication with the representative.
4. Be Served by the Executive Committee. When needed,
the Official Diocesan Representative can contact the Executive Committee
for their needs. They can get their information out to the state through
the Newsletter and Web Site. The Executive Committee would be there
to serve the Representatives.
